The Channel Gliding Club is one of the oldest in the country, founded in June 1930. It is a members-owned organisation and is run entirely by volunteers. Club members may come and fly on any day that the Club is operating. New members are always welcome.
Club instruction is integrated with visitors flying and is on the basis of 'first come, first served'. Members are also expected to assist with glider launching and, with experience and training, to operate launching equipment and to help run the airfield.
